Q: What is an air conditioner SEER rating?Back to Top
A:

Air conditioners are given a SEER (seasonal energy efficiency rating) based on electrical usage. A higher rating means a less expensive air conditioner to operate. For example, a 13 seer unit will cost half as much to run as a 6 seer unit. Although this rating is important, there are other factors equally important when choosing an air conditioner. The type of compressor and warranty should be strongly considered. As with any equipment purchase, installation is also critical. Installed properly, there should be very few problems. Done incorrectly, it could be very expensive and void warranty.

Q: Explain how a 2-stage, variable speed furnace worksBack to Top
A:

2-stage furnace has a variable speed, DC blower motor that is 75% less expensive to run than a conventional motor. This furnace operates on low-fire, burning less fuel, 90% of the time. When higher heat is needed high-fire will provide heat quickly, using all of the available gas. Coupled with a blower that circulates air continuously on low speed, this kind of furnace will keep the air temperature even throughout your home, control humidity and filter air 24hrs a day. This is the best climate control available.

Q: How important is changing my furnace filter?Back to Top
A:

It is very important. When a filter becomes full or clogged, it dramatically reduces airflow through the furnace. This can cause many problems. In the heating season it often causes the furnace to overheat and shut down, dropping the temperature in your home, prompting a service call. In the cooling season it will cause the air conditioner to run longer, and eventually freeze up, and shut down. Either of these problems can cause further damage to the parts in your furnace or air conditioner. Changing your filter regularly will help protect your equipment and keep service calls to a minimum.

Q: How regular should maintenance be done on my furnace or air conditioner?Back to Top
A:

Well, regular maintenance has many benefits. Having your equipment serviced regularly will improve efficiency and, keep service calls to a minimum. Most companies have maintenance plans that allow technicians to monitor your equipment and foresee problems before they become costly or dangerous. These plans offer the homeowner reduced service costs because we visit regularly, becoming more familiar with your home, equipment and family. We pre-schedule maintenance dates 3 times a year, to make it a worry-free experience.

Q: What is a ductless mini-split system?Back to Top
A:

A ductless mini-split system is comprised of an indoor unit called the evaporator and an outdoor unit called the condensing unit. The evaporator is connected to the condensing unit by copper tubing and electrical wiring which is passed through a 2 ½” – 3” hole. Basically, it is a small central air unit with the flexibility of cooling or heating one room or more; zoning.

Q: Can I install this myself?Back to Top
A:

No. Only an authorized certified HVAC contractor can install Fujitsu units.

Q: Where can I purchase a Fujitsu ductless mini-split system? Can I purchase directly from Fujitsu?Back to Top
A:

A consumer can purchase a unit from a Fujitsu Authorized Contractor. Air Bridge is one of the Authorized Contractor of Fujitsu Ductless mini-split systems.

Q: What is MERV Rating?Back to Top
A:

The MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) rating of a filter describes the size of the holes in the filter that allow air to pass through. The higher the MERV rating, the smaller the holes in the filter, the higher the efficiency.
