‘ECO-Energy Retrofit-Homes Program’ Announcement
March 31, 2010 -

The federal government announced March 31st 2010 that, effective immediately, the federal ‘ECO-Energy Retrofit-Homes Program’ would no longer be accepting bookings for pre-retrofit evaluations.

According to the news release, the program will continue to be administered until March 31st, 2011. Only homeowners who have already booked an appointment for a pre-retrofit evaluation, have completed an evaluation, or applied for re-entry to the program, will remain eligible to apply for a grant.

The government announcement advices homeowners to complete energy upgrades well in advance to allow enough time for a post-retrofit evaluation as all post-retrofit evaluations must be completed by March 31st, 2011. Homeowners are advised to contact the energy advisor whose name and phone number is listed on the pre-retrofit evaluation report and label.
