Trane Announces Enhancements to Limited Warranties
May 31, 2009 -

Trane has lengthened many of its limited warranties and has also moved to a new, easy-to-use, warranty registration process. The changes reflect Trane’s continued commitment to quality, durability and reliability, and offer more reasons for consumers to purchase its products during these economic times.

The new limited warranties will be available for residential equipment installed in residential applications in either a Base Limited Warranty or a Registered Limited Warranty.

“Thanks to the changes and enhancements we’re announcing today, Trane is able to provide consumers with the most competitive limited warranty it has ever offered,” said Dave Pannier, president, Trane Residential Systems. “In addition, we’re also retaining the competitive edge for our dealers during the sales process. In today’s market, the new warranties reflect the Trane commitment to providing its dealers with a valuable point of difference, while also offering customers a renewed sense of security and peace of mind.”

The new, easy-to-use registration process allows the consumer, dealer or builder to register eligible Trane products by simply visiting trane.com or by calling the Trane Warranty Registration Center at 1-800-554-6413. Registration must be completed within 60 days of installation or start-up to qualify for the Trane Registered Limited Warranty. Without registration, the Base Limited Warranty will apply. When a consumer’s system has been successfully registered, they will instantaneously be provided with a confirmation number and a printable warranty certificate, which will state the limited parts coverage for each registered system component and/or the system warranty.

Some examples of the Limited Warranty enhancements include:

  • 12 year compressor warranties on XLi split outdoor units and 16 SEER packaged units.
  • 10 year parts warranties on 16 SEER packaged units.
  • 10 year system warranties on XLi and XR split systems.
  • 10 year compressor warranties on XB split and XBc packaged products.
  • Lifetime heat exchanger warranties on all variable speed furnaces.

“We’ve spent considerable time looking at the registration process and wanted to ensure we’re providing our customers with a good experience,” added Pannier. “After all, we want every touch with a customer to reflect the promise and commitment of Trane and its dealers as an industry leader.”
